6th Annual Leadership and Awards Program

Each year, we recognize those who are dedicated to the mission of the Greater
Washington Women’s Network.


TOPIC: Transforming Knowledge into Leadership

You got talent, skills, experiences, and knowledge. These assets can translate into leadership. Position yourself to use your qualities to produce positive behavior in others, create solutions to unresolved problems, and make a difference in humanity, not only nationally but globally.  Learn how to market your greatest values and potential into leadership. Thus, creating magical moments and being dynamic.

You will be able to:

  • Define an effective leader 
  • Identify your qualities to lead others
  • Recognize ways to convert knowledge to develop leadership
  • Project a positive professional image as a leader

Ms. Nicole E. Cozier
is currently the Philanthropic Education Officer at Washington Area Women’s Foundation, bringing 15 years of non-profit experience working on behalf of women and girls to the position. She joins the Foundation after five years working for Women & Philanthropy - both as a stand-alone organization, and as a project of the Council on Foundations. 

Ms. Cozier’s other experience includes work at the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance as Public Education Director, and then as Senior Director, Programs & Organizational Development, and the  Women’s Health Coordinator at The Cooper Health System in Camden, NJ. She holds an MBA and an MS from Temple University in Philadelphia and an honors bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto.

Charles Sumner School is a red brick building.  Entrance is on 17th St.

Parking: Monument Parking, 1707 L Street NW (between 17th and Connecticut Avenue NW), Washington, DC [parking will be about $14]

There is also metered parking on the street
